About VPN & Proxy Detector

Scans your network connection for VPN and proxy indicators using multiple client-side techniques. Detects your public IP address, checks for WebRTC IP leaks that can expose your real IP behind a VPN, analyzes your DNS resolver, and inspects browser connection metadata. Provides an overall VPN detection assessment based on combined signals.

  • Public IP detection via ipify.org API
  • WebRTC leak detection using RTCPeerConnection STUN binding to reveal local and public IPs
  • DNS resolver identification via Cloudflare DoH whoami query
  • Browser connection analysis: connection type, downlink speed, round-trip time
  • Timezone consistency check for VPN detection signals
  • All checks run client-side — no data sent to third-party analytics services

Frequently Asked Questions

What is a WebRTC leak?
WebRTC is a browser technology for real-time communication (video calls, etc.) that can reveal your real IP address even when using a VPN. The STUN protocol used by WebRTC can bypass VPN tunnels and expose the IP assigned by your ISP. If this tool shows a WebRTC IP different from your public IP, your VPN has a WebRTC leak.
How can I fix a WebRTC leak?
In Firefox, set media.peerconnection.enabled to false in about:config. In Chrome, install a WebRTC-blocking extension. Brave browser blocks WebRTC leaks by default. Most premium VPN browser extensions also include WebRTC leak protection.
