Frequently Asked Questions
- Why does Sigma show two lowercase forms (σ/ς)?
- Greek uses σ (sigma) in the middle of words and ς (final sigma) at the end. This tool shows both forms together as “σ/ς” so you can copy whichever you need. Most other Greek letters have a single lowercase form.
- Can I search by pasting a Greek symbol directly?
- Yes. The search matches against the uppercase glyph, lowercase glyph, English name, and pronunciation. Paste θ and it finds Theta; type “THAY” and it finds Theta by pronunciation. The symbol match is case-sensitive since Greek uppercase and lowercase are distinct characters.
